Reusable Period Products
The Scottish Government recognises that access to period products is fundamental to equality and dignity. In the UK alone, an estimated 4.3 billion disposable period products are used every year, generating over 200,000 tonnes of waste.
To support our ambition to become a more sustainable region, and to advance our poverty and wellbeing agenda, we are launching an initial pilot project to gauge interest and demand for sustainable period products. Through this pilot, residents of Angus will have the opportunity to try reusable, sustainable options, including period pants or menstrual cups.
Working in partnership with Angus Alive, these products will be available to access at Angus Sports Centres.
Breast Buddies Angus
Breast Buddies Angus is aiming to improve breastfeeding rates in Angus by providing breastfeeding peer support to new parents. The project will train and develop the volunteers to run groups throughout the area and is managed by Volunteer Action Angus.
Breast Buddies have a number of ongoing, virtual events including breastfeeding classes for pregnant women and drop-ins for breastfeeding mums.

Our free period products are stocked in multiple locations throughout Angus including council buildings, schools and colleges, sports halls, health and medical centres and third sector organisations.

Become a Period Positive Employer
Angus Period Positive Campaign is about making products accessible to all while removing the stigma associated with periods and menstrual health. In Angus we believe that it's ok to talk about periods and the increased engagement around this has improved local people’s quality of life and created peer support networks.
